Papertake Weekly - In Stitches / The Sweet Stop - A Sketch / Stamping Bella - A Square Card

Well today is Canada Day here in my country. I really should have done a red and white card with maple leafs on it, but I didn't. I've come down with one heck of a bug. I feel all chilly and feverish, and my throat is just killing me. A teaspoon of honey every couple of hours is the only thing that is helping, and rest of course. I've really done nothing all day except take the picture of my card, and a couple others I finished last night in the wee hours of the morning because I slept from this cold all day and couldn't sleep at night. LOL.
This card was done for 3 challenges. Papertake Weekly Challenge is looking for stitching on your cards, The Sweet Stop has this sketch to follow:
and Stamping Bella is looking for square cards. For this card I used the Stamping Bella image Daisy Balloon. I colored it with my copics to match the fantastic Basic Grey paper Kioshi. I think this is one of the prettiest lines of papers Basic Grey has come out with in a long time. I just love the colors in it. I cut out my image and the squares with one of my Nestibilities. I punched a boarder out with my Martha Stewart punch called Daisy Edge and added some purple ribbon I had laying around on top. I added a floral button that I just got at Michael's last week, and of course some glitter. What is a card without glitter. Anyways I hope everyone is having a fabulous day wherever you are. The weather here is now gorgeous and sunny. Perfect for Canada Day celebrations.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - A Sketch

This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we have a sketch for you to follow. It is a great design and this is what we're looking for:



For my card I used a plaid design paper by Little Yellow Bicycle called Baby Safari 2, and the orange design paper is Jackson Lodge Sparks. My stamp is called Ethan Lollipop and is available from the fabulous Stamping Bella. My sentiment is from My Sentiments Exactly. I colored my Ethan with my copics and added some blue rick rack. I just added some of the papers on the inside and finished it with a verse from the same sentiment pack from MSE.

I find Mother's Day cards and projects hard to do as I lost my wonderful Mom in 93 to the horrible disease of breast cancer. My mom was extremely talented. She played guitar, painted water colors, oils, pastels, anything she could dabble in she did. So to try to take away from that I decided to make my project for me. I am a mom, a really busy one, but a mom indeed.

My older son finished hockey this spring. He's played since he was 4, so this year was hard for me knowing it was over. However I did still have one very talented hockey player left. Not so. He has informed me that he is done with hockey and doesn't want to go back. Maybe next year was the best I got. So all the money, (and believe me, with 2 boys in rep hockey, there's tons of money spent) that would have been spent on hockey has now been rerouted to my new jar, Mom's new fund. This will now be used soley for scrapbooking retreats. I figure that means at least 4 per year. Besides now I won't be at the rink every weekend, so that frees up the time for me to go. Time to celebrate!!

For my project I used Basic Grey - Wisteria paper. Coincidently I happened to use a Stamping Bella stamp, which totally was not planned. I colored her with my copics, and mounted her with my nestibilities. I then added her to a strip of co-ordinating paper and wrapped it around my jar. I added a bit of ribbon around and pulled the ends up through a purplle button. I then took some plastic skates that I had purchesed somewhere along the lines and glittered them with purple glitter dust. I tied the bow through them. I added some lace around the rim, wrote out on the lid with stickles, and finally added purple flowers around the rim.

Another Birthday Card

Here's another of Austin's 14th birthday cards. For this one I used Crate Paper's Orbit Collection. It is just so boyish, with some great colors in it. On the inside of my card I just covered it with light blue Bazzil cardstock and added the goop punch from Martha Stewart in a simmery blue on the top. I stamped it with a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly, Birthday collection. On the outside of my card I kept it simple as I really wanted to show the Orbit paper and not cover it up too much. I punched a whole with my tags punch from Nestibilities and stamped the sentiment in a rusty red colored ink. This sentiment is also from the same MSE Birthday set. I used the robot stamps from Stamping Bella. They're called Giga Watt, Kilo Watt and Cakey Watt. Aren't they darling and so perfect for a boy's card. Of course there's glitter here and there to make them shiney robots. Well hope you have a wonderful day. My third birthday card will be shown with an upcoming Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. A Spoon Full Of Sugar - One For The Boys

Well over at A Spoon Full Of Sugar they have a challenge called "One For The Boys". I am showing you the last of the 3 cards I made for my son's 18th birthday on Saturday passed.

For this card I used Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper. I mounted all my sections with random colors of cardstock to match the colors in the Lime Rickey paper. I used an image from the fabulous Emily at Stamping Bella, called SK8R Boy. I colored him with my copics, and cut him out and the mat with one of my Nestibilities. I used some rhinestones I had laying around on the sentiment, but on the image I used some blue baubles for the wheels and around the edges.

On the inside of the card I use the goop punch from Martha Stewart and cut out a co-ordinating paper from the Lime Rickey collection and had it drooping down. Again the sentiment is from Stamping Bella.

We're looking at rain for the next few days with a lovely weekend ahead. I'm off to the ole' Inspiration Room tomorrow for some more creating.

Friday Sketchers #96

Well today is my boy's 18th birthday. I managed to get 3 cards done for him. This card I made to enter the Friday Sketchers Challenge of this fabulous sketch:


For this card I used some beautiful paper from 3 Bugs in a Rug called Snips and Snails. It is in great colors and fabulous designes.

I used Stamping Bella's stamp called Dylan Lollipop. I bought him just for my boy's birthdays that are both in April. He comes with a sentiment that says You're so cool. I didn't use that one though, but used another Stamping Bella sentiment Happy Birthday. I made this card simple as I didn't want to poof poof it up too much for a boy. I used some polka dot green ribbon that I had bought at Michaels and a small bow, just to spruce it up.

Happy 18th Chase, you make me proud of all your hard work.

Friday Sketchers #94/ Stamp With Fun # 51 Easter

Wow, too many posts for me today. I had come across a package of shaker domes in a little store in Barrie, Ontario that were for Flower Soft cards. I do have tons of flower soft, but this time wanted to do a shaker card for my little girl for Easter. I used the fabulous design from Friday Sketchers below:
The design is from the amazingly talented Claudia Rosa. Also over at Stamp With Fun they are looking for Easter Cards. For my card I used the Stamping Bella darling Izzie is a Bunny. I used Making Memories Flower Patch paper. It is so Eastery. I bought it last year, so I'm not too sure if it's still available this year. It is darling for Easter. I added a boarder with my Martha Stewart Lacy punch and placed some peach ribbon from Paper Trey on top. The flowers are from Cute Stamp and Card's webshop. Jacqueline and Gertjan are fabulous and will send product all over the world. Definately worth shopping there. I added some pearls from the wedding section at Michaels to finish it up. The sentiment "Hippity, Hoppity, Happity Easter" was made for me at Stamping Bella. Emily loved it and put it into a stamp. You can pop over there and purchase one for you card. Hope you are having a warm weekend somewhere in the world because it has gotten cool again here in Canada. Let's hope for a warm week.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #43 Pop Up

This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we are doing pop up cards. I had hoped to have come up with another idea than this one, but really struggled with the pop up aspect. I had searched you tube for tutorials and finally found one, so I hope to be done another version of a pop up card. This card is more of a spring loaded card, but still pops up. I had wanted to make a birthday card for my birthday today, but loved this new image from Stamping Bella called Romantic Cage. Isn't it darling. The image I used on my cover is the Love Definition Block. I made this Valentine's Day card for my oldest daughter, Sarah, as it gives the definition of Love as "A feeling of warm attachment, or deep affection, as for a parent, child or friend". The 2 little birds are just too cute. The paper I used is from Bo Bunny and is part of the Whoo Loves You Collection. I added tons of pearls, and pink rhinestones to the flowers on the front of the card. The larger pink rhinestones are from Martha Stewart's Wedding Collection. I also tied it with my famous Papertrey ribbon. I had bought the self adhesive springs from a shop somewhere, just not sure what spending spree they were part of, LOL. I colored my image with my copics. I am sure having fun with them. I can't believe though how many you have out on the table once you are done coloring. I use 3-4 tones per area I color and with the blending it can take longer to color an image. Once the fun wears off, I will jump back and forth from copics to pencil crayons.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #86 - Glitter Me Silly / Stamping Bella - Wild Card

Well here's the unvailing of my Christmas Cards for everyone. I found this little image from Stamping Bella called Snowfight. I saw a card done by a few of the Bella DT members and fell totally in love with it. Isn't she to die for. I also fell in love with the paper by Basic Grey called Eskimo Kisses. This particular pattern from the set, Village, is very hard to find, and I don't think there's a store within a 50 Km radius of my house that has any left. LOL. I am now on the hunt for more as I don't have enough to make all my Christmas cards. UGH! I colored my image with 2 colors, peach and the teal. I used puff paint on the fur of her snowsuit and sprinkled it with glitter before puffing it. This makes the glitter adhear to it better. I used some Martha Stewart Snow and glued it onto the bottom to give it some dimension. I found a matching ribbon and ran it down the side. I have found this amazing glitter paper, not sure who makes it, but it's completely covered in glitter. I used my large snowflake punch and punched out a snowflake. I put a teal sugar coated brad from Doodlebug in the middle. Hope everyone likes it, and acts surprised when they get it. I'm off to a scrapbooking retreat this weekend so this is why there've been few post from me lately. I've been cutting and stamping like crazy for the past week or so. All this hard work will mean that I just have to sit and glue all weekend. I should come back with at least 120 christmas cards done. I'll share on Monday,

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #84 - Midnight Margaritas

Well a dismal Monday here in Ontario. We had some sun this afternoon, but it didn't last too long. It is now 4:30, and starting to look more like 6:30. Our temperature has been dropping, so it sure seems like a great week for a warm fire, and a Margarita. This is my card for Cute Card Thursday's weekly challenge. This week it's Midnight Margaritas. Now that Halloween is over I am totally in Christmas mode. I begged hubby to put up the lights on the weekend past, but he's in put away the fall stuff mode. UGH. I just took down all the Halloween decorations, and believe me I had a lot up, and was asking him to get down the Christmas tree. I could make Christmas last all winter. Here is my entry into Cute Card Thursday. I used one of the fabulous Stamping Bella stamps "Christmatini" I used some holiday paper I had downstairs, colored my image with my Derwents and mineral spirits, accented with a couple of bobbles from Stamping Bella and tied it with some lime green polka dot ribbon. I used some red glitter to color the swirls on the ball. Have a great day, and I hope it's warmer where you are.

Stamping Bella Challenge

This is my entry for the Stamping Bella Challenge this week. It is a sketch by Shannanabella. I rotated it as I seem to do a lot of. I used Stamping Bella's new stamp Ornament with Holly. I am back into the soft colors for christmas again. I embossed the pink card stock with my cuttlebug folder, snowflakes. I colored with my lyras and mineral spirits. I added some sheer ribbon following the sketch. I finished it with 3 sugar coated brads.

Just A Little Papertray Card

Well I decided to take Wednesday off to prepare for my Shelby's 8th birthday today, Thursday. She is my baby of 4 and a true princess. So once I had the balloons blown, the streamers up, and all her gifts wrapped I thought I'd throw a little card in I whipped together. It is used with my Paper Tray picnic basket set. I'm glad my great friend Christine Dol of Dol Creations talked me into finally getting it. What a fantastic stamp. Coincidently I just colored it and voila I had matching paper in the inspiration room, or as my friends so kindly refer to it, the Keswick Scrapbooking Store. LOL. There really is no shortage of paper there. To tell you the truth there really isn't a shortage of much there, just ask dh! I enjoyed doing this card as it gave me an excuse to use my new Martha Stewart punch. I added a dab of glitter, you know me, a Martha Stewart daisy, and a metal flower I bought at the Scrapping Turtle. The sentiment is one of many of my fantastic sentiments from the amazing Stamping Bella. Have a great Thursday.

Stamping Bella Challenge/Papertake Weekly Challenge 4 Seasons

This is my Stamping Bella Challenge card for the week and it also is for Papertake Weekly Challenge which is celebrating the 4 seasons. My season of course is Winter. I used the new image from Stamping Bella called Hats and Mitts. I love this paper from Cosmo Cricket called Smitten Mitten, and this is the second card I've done with it this week. I'm going to have to buy more real soon. LOL. I added glitter to the stamped image that I colored with my Lyra's and Mineral Spirits. You know me and glitter. I used my EK Success punch to make the middle trim match the pom poms. I then used my pink pom pom trim, and cut a few off to add to the little tag on the bottom and of course one on the hat. I used the sentiment Warm Hugs from Stamping Bella. I love this sentiment and I can see I'll be using it a lot. Enjoy this hot and humid day, almost seems wrong to do a winter card today.

Stamping Bella Challenge

Here is my card for this weeks Stamping Bella Challenge. You had to follow the sketch by Linda. It was a fun one. I used the new glitter powder to do my star, and where all the little flowers were on the babies blanket, I put on little pink flowered rhinestones. I even cut some to put on the edges. I was able to use a couple of my Spellbinders Nestibilities. Happy Friday to everyone, and lets pray for some sun on the weekend.

Stamping Bella Challenge and Winter Wonderland Week #6

I managed to sneak this card into 2 challenges. I followed the design for the Stamping Bella Challenge. I used the image Group Hug, and embossed the sentiment with Aegean Silver Embossing powder using another Stamping Bella Sentiment. This image is called Group Hug. It was my very first Stamping Bella stamp. For the Winter Wonderland Challenge you had to make a card with your version of Christmas's Past. I love a snowman at Christmas and ever since I was a little girl, we always had a snowman on the front lawn.

Stamping Bella Challenge

Well Happy Canada Day to all. I'm sure that most people are busy putting Canada Day cards on their blogs, but I'm up to my elbows in strawberries, and have not a spare second today to get one done. So for today I am posting my Stamping Bella Challenge card. I added some technics that I learned from the amazing Linda and Paula last Saturday at Stamping Bella. Thank you ladies, your knowledge is tremendous, and what you showed us was fabulous. This paper of gears was perfect for my little robot.

Stamping Bella Challenge

Well there's my interpretation of the Stamping Bella Challenge. This week the challenge looked like this: I had a lot of fun with it. When I first saw the picture I immediately thought of my little Bella Animals. Each one would have it's own little glass enclosed cage. I glittered the spots on the Spotted Giraffe, highlighted the Daisy Hippo with glitter,and added glitter to the belly and feet of the little Bunny. My Daisy Lion was the funnest. When I bought this little guy from Stamping Bella I had envisioned Flowersoft around his little face. So it was fun to see what it would turn out like. I really like it. I then cut some acetate to fit the squared off area of the card and mounted it with a piece of green cardstock that I used my nestabilities to cut out the squares. I raised the outer glass like piece with foam dots to give it some height. I used Stazon Black ink to stamp the sentiment "Never Grow Up" from Stamping Bella onto the acetate. I then decided to try my hand at finishing the inside. I think it looks okay. Well enjoy.

Bellarific Friday Challenge June 12th, 2009

Today was the final day for the Stamping Bella Challenge. I have had a very busy and discouraging week that included a Harvey's Hamburger dripping oil all over my blouse while I was out running errands, to locking my keys in my car, and being locked out with oil all down my blouse. Then having to wait 1 1/2 hours for my dedicated 17 year old to finish an in class assignment before he could drive the 20 mins to unlock me. The other discouraging part, if you're my husband, was that I locked myself out of the van outside Home Sense. What a gold mine. Luckily I had my cell phone to keep intouch with my fellow scrapbooker in crime Christine from dolcreations, and my credit card. Well Christine has had enjoyment in pointing out that I could have called a towtruck for $50.00, however my 1 1/2 visit to Home Sense rendered me $190.00 in the red. (Hubby thinks I got some pretty good deals). I now have birdhouses, birdcages, candles and lots of other good stuff for my gardens. LOL. So in finalizing this wonderful story I have been behind all week, and have not had time to do my Bellarific Friday card. Then today I received an e-mail from Two Scrapbook Friends in Waterloo that inspired me to finish my Bellarific Card. Right to the wire I got it in at 4:59 pm for the cutoff time of 5:00 pm. Well here's my entry to the Bellarific Friday Challenge. I loved these little monsters. It was just hard to find spots to glitter. But I found the right spots. I thought they would make the perfect birthday card.

Magnolia Challenge Week #7

Well here's my Magnolia Challenge for the week. The category was bugs and animals. I chose a Stamping Bella Magical Frog. When I put it together I felt my little Tilda was deciding whether or not to give her prince a little kiss. I added lots of glitter to the little frog, but it doesn't show. He has 3 rhinestones on his crown.
