Witches Hat Treat Boxes

This Halloween I decided to follow my fabulous girlfriend in Aurora who found this pattern on line. I made 6 of these hats, 2 of each pattern. That means one for each of us in the family. I took this great paper that I found in my little nook in the wall store in Stouffville, Ontario. The paper is a heavier paper so very good to hold the candies in. I'm not sure what company it is from though. I followed the pattern for the hats from many blogs until I finally got the dimensions right. I added some black glitter paper and stamped a tag with a sentiment from Stampin' Up. I mounted that with a cut out Nestability that my friend had. You fill it with candy and tie some matching ribbon at the top to close it up. I just decorated it with spider rings and bat rings and skull rings cutting off the back part to the rings. My kids will enjoy these when they get home from school and work.

Tilda in the Pumpkin Patch

This week for my card I decided to match the colors in our challenge by making a pop-up card. I've made one before and they were really fun to make. Our colors this week for our color challenge are orange, lime green, white, and purple/black. I used black as I couldn't find paper with purple on it. My paper was My Mind's Eye Blackbird collection. I loved the little trick or treaters. For my image I colored a Witch Tilda from last October's Halloween release. I used my copics to color her and added black prisma glitter to her hat. I printed pumpkin images from the computer and colored them with the copics also. I pop dotted the center of the pumpkin. For my tree I found a tree image on my Bloom cartridge for my Cricut and just did the basic part of the tree in black and cut it 4 1/2 "s. I used my bat and grass Martha Stewart punches to add extra. The moon was just a 1 1/2" circle punch of gold glitter paper. My sentiment is from Magnolia as well.

For our challenge this week. You have to create a card or project with the colors Orange, Lime Green, White and Purple/Black. You don't have to just use the Halloween theme, you can create anything as long as you use those colors and don't forget to stamp. Here's the colors.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - No Cards Allowed

Well this is going to be an amazing Challenge as over here at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we are looking for anything but a card this week. This leaves it wide open for you to get those creative juices flowing and come up with something amazing and original.

For my project I decided to do a trick or treat bag for my daughter who's 9. I found a white canvas bag at our local craft store Michaels. I use 3 colors of my Tim Holtz Distressed Inks and dabbed them on my craft pad. I then misted them with water and stuck my hand in the bag and started pressing randomly in different colors until I achieved something I was happy with. After the bag dried, I stamped a black cat, (not sure the stamp company) along the bottom of the bag, and some bats on the bag hear and there. I then didn't think they were black enough so I went over them with my Black Gelly Pen. I added googly eyes to the bats and cats. For my Spiders I put a big blob of Stickles, and with my Gelly Pen I drew the legs and web. I added the googly eyes to them as well. I stamped Happy Halloween with on the bag and went over it again with the Gelly Pen. I also made matching 3" x 3" cards done with the same technic. After I tye dyed the card I stamped some words from a stamp company that I visited out side of New York City. The work block stamp had spiders on it. Then I added different colored Stickles to their bodies on the card.

Just Magnolia #29 - Monochrome

Happy Halloween to all. I hope that everyone had a safe evening. Over at Just Magnolia this week the challenge is to make a Monocromatic card. That is using different shades of one color. I decided to use my last little Magnolia Halloween image as I now have to pack them away until next Halloween. I colored this lil' devil with my Derwent pencil crayons and blended with mineral spirits. I used my circle nestabilities and put the cream colored circle through my Cuttlebug with Swiss Dots. The paper is October Afternoon. I had a little ribbon that they sent as a little gift when I placed my last order over at Ellen Hudson's shop, so I used it to make a cute little bow. The hat pin is from Making Memories.

Just Magnolia Challenge #28-Martine's Sketch / Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #83 - Candy Corn / Magnolia-licious October DT Sketch - Easel Card

This card I did for 3 challenges. Over at Just Magnolia you were to follow a beautiful sketch by Martine.
I love all the embellishments on this sketch. It was a fun one to make. I also turned it into an easel card so I could enter it into Magnolia-icious's monthly challenge to make an easel card. Cute Card Thursday is asking for candy corn on theirs and that's what my paper has on it. I wanted this card to go with my Martha Stewart broom candy bags, so I used the same image. I colored her with my Derwents and Mineral Spirits. I used some Halloween paper that I picked up at Michaels in a 6x6 pad. It has been very useful for my Halloween cards I've been doing for my blog. I used my Martha Stewart loopy punch and did it on white cardstock, but found it a bit stark, so I inked it with Tea Dye Distressed Inks. I added my favorite Martha Stewart Daisies, with the grassy punch of orange and gold sprigs around the flowers. I finished off with some Nicole Heady Black Ribbon, and pop dotted the sentiment trick or treat. I used the ribbon to prop the easel card in it's standing position as this way the card could lay flat and be mailed. This was a fun card to make.

For my project I used the Martha Stewart broom bags from Michaels. This was a great kit as it even came with the sticks, and they're actually plastic but look so real. I used a stamped image that my best scrapbooking buddy Christine from Dol Creations lent me. Thank you Christine, she is the cutest Halloween image. I used liquid glass and colored the pumpkin with it and covered the liquid glass with orange glitter. I used my Derwent pencil crayons to color Tilda. I cut a little tag out of some black glitter cardstock and used Martha Stewart's Spider Web punch to punch out the sides of the tag. I embossed the name of my son with white glitter embossing powder and tied it on with some black twine. I then punched out tons of glitter black bats with my Martha Stewart bat punch and glued them everywhere. I hope you enjoyed my project. I can't wait to see what you create.

Cute Card Thursday #83 - Spookfest / Just Magnolia Challenge #26 - A Sketch By Mina / Magnolia Down Under #24 - Trick Or Treat

Here is my card for 2 Magnolia Challenges and Cute Card Thursday. Over at Just Magnolia they have a beautiful sketch from Mina. Down at Magnolia Down Under they are looking for Trick or Treat cards and Cute Card Thursday is having a spookfest. I just love Halloween. Monday was Thanksgiving here in Canada, and I cooked a nice little turkey with all the fixings. The bird took 6 hours to cook, which gave me time to make this card. My 13 year old son decorated my table below, which made a great background for the picture of my card. I used this magnolia image from my Halloween collection that I bought at Cute Stamps and Cards. I think she's really a pilgrim, which was appropriate for our holiday, but I made her a witch for Halloween. I added her onto some nestabilities and put a little spider web sticker in the corner of that. I put on some orange rhinestones and a spider brad in the spider web. I put some beautiful Nicole Heady ribbon on and a strip of card stock with Martha Stewarts spider web punched out. I embossed the little spider in white glitter. I used some more spider brads and used black stickles to make their webs strings that they're hanging from. I finished it off with some flowers that had yellow rhinestones in them, but I took them off and added black and orange ones to match my card. Here is my table that my 13 year old son set up for Thanksgiving dinner. Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians, happy Columbus day to my neighbourly American friends, and happy Monday to everyone else.

Just Magnolia Week #25 - Hand Created Flower

Here's my Just Magnolia Challenge card this week. It was to create a hand made flower. I used my Martha Stewart leafy punch. I cut out purple, black and orange ones and glued them together putting a black rhinestone in the middle. I mounted it onto orange rick rack that I heald down with 2 purple spider brads. I cut a border out with my Martha Stewart spider web punch. I used a small 6 x 6 paper pack I purchased at Michaels. There is some really cool Halloween paper. This is my new Halloween Tilda that I just received from Cute Stamp and Cards. They have all the new Magnolias there. Hope you enjoy. Happy Tuesday.
