Whiff Of Joy Challenge #51

Over at The Whiff Of Joy Challenge Blog this week, the challenge is to include a die cut on your card. Well I searched my whole inspiration room and the only die cut I had that was suitable to match one of my Whiff Of Joy stamps was the Nestabilities Snowflake die which I paired with Willow and her Lantern. I know Willow does have holly on her lantern and in her hair, so that was wintery enough for me, lol. I colored her with my Derwents and Mineral Spirits. I used some of my October Afternoon paper which if read closely has the story Twas The Night Before Christmas printed all over it with snowflakes. I used my Martha Stewart Punch and cut out a little boarder. I added a little pink polka dot bow with a Close To My Heart hat pin in it. My final touches were the Nesties Snowflake die cuts. I ran them through my Zyron and then glittered the tops with Close To My Heart Prisma Glitter, and finally threw a button in the middle. I love winter and I love using different colors other than the traditional red and green. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Whiff Of Joy Card

Good morning all. Here is my entry to last week's Whiff Of Joy Challenge which required you to do a card with 6 brads, 2 flowers, and 3 pattern papers. I thought the challenge was supposed to end Thursday, but it was Wednesday. So here it is anyway. Hope you like.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #48 Heather's Sketch/ Papertake Weekly Challenge Faking It

Well I've finally gotten around to finding time to color one of my new Whiff Of Joy fall images. I just love her. She's harvesting the grapes, hopefully to make me some wine for the winter. LOL. I have been on a mission for the past few months to find another set of pencil crayons that had some bolder colors. I sampled 3 over the last few days and the winner of the best pencil crayon that moves with mineral spirits was Derwent Color Soft pencil crayons. I love the way they move with the spirits and the color range is very different then my Lyra's. They are a good compliment to my Lyra's. So here's my first card done with them. I also in my travels managed to find my little nook in the wall store called Pointers that was full of tons of new fall papers, and of course I had to have one of every one. This set is called October Afternoon. So for the Whiff Of Joy Challenge it was to follow a sketch by Heather. What a great sketch, but tons of layers. I also made this card to go into the Papertake Weekly Challenge which was to create a card with lots of Fake embellishments on it. I added Faux stitching on my card, and cut out Faux flowers from my October Afternoon paper, and of course punched out Faux leaves. I'm still holding onto Summer, but I am loving my fall stamps. Happy Fummer. There's a compromise.

Whiff of Joy Challenge #46 Bev's Sketch

Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. It was to follow a sketch using a Whiff of Joy image. I used my Willow with Lantern image that I have desperately waited to come in the mail. Isn't she just dreamy. I absolutely love her. I colored her with my Lyra's and Mineral Spirits. I used my Westeria paper. Wow do I love this paper. I'm going to have to start using some other paper, you will all think this is the only paper I own. LOL. I used a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly (Birthday Collection). I layered some flowers that I got at Michaels with one of the glittery brads that also come from there. Happy back to school days to all the little ones.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #45 Bling / Cute Card Thursday Challenge#75 New Beginnings

Well my deep apologies to my fantastic followers who hung on while I found my umph. I did not loose my Mojo as seems to have happened to my some of my blogger friends. I just took a couple of days off to take the kids to Ohio to Cedar Point Amusement Park, and when I got back I just couldn't get my umph going to get back to card making. Then the worst thing happened. I started reading the 2nd book in the Twillight series. OMG, I couldn't stop reading. I never read like that, but over 500 pages in a week. I bought the 3rd one, and it's sitting on my counter calling me, but I promised myself that until I got a few cards done, I wasn't touching it. LOL. So here's my little card that I came up with. Whiff of Joy's Challenge this week is to use as much bling as possible. I added little pink rhinestone flowers to her hair, and glittered the baby's blanket. I wasn't sure that was enough bling so I edged my new Nestability template with glitter and added a flower rhinestone on either side of my new Nestability tag. I tried to do the grass technic that I learned from the UBER TALENTED Paula Tracy on Monday of last week. See Paula, this one doesn't look like she's on the edge of a swamp. LOL. I finished it off with another technic of Paula's sponging the color of ink called Wheat around the edges to soften it. Love how it turned out. For Cute Card Thursday their challenge this week was for a New Beginnings card. This card and stamp was perfect for it. I have had 3 neices in the last year have their first babies, and I have a nephew trying to start a family. This card will come in handy. I colored with my lyra pencil crayons and mineral spirits, and my sentiment is from My Sentaments Exactly. It's from my baby collection. Sorry for the lull in cards, but I am back now.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #43/Pink and Brown

This is my card for the Whiff of Joy Challenge. You were asked to do a card in Pink and Brown. No problem over here. I used my Willow with Toddler stamp and colored them in pinks and browns with a touch of green with my Lyra pencil crayons and mineral spirits. I used my Nestibilities to cut my image and also to matt it. I used my Martha Stewart Lace Boarder Punch to matt my ribbon. I embellished with a bow and a soother charm purchased at Stamping Bella. I finalized my card with a daisy from Martha Stewart and some greenery punched out with a Martha Stewart punch. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Beautiful and sunny here in Ontario, Canada. Perfect for hubby's surprise 50th today.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #41 Floral

This little card was actually meant for last weeks Whiff of Joy Challenge, but I didn't get around to posting it until today. That's when I saw the Challenge had changed to Flowers, so I (sshhhh) added another flower and entered it anyway. LOL. I embellished with a little charm from Stamping Bella that says My Garden. The flowers and leaves are Martha Stewart products. Hope you enjoy my little WOJ Cute Snail.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #39

Well this card was done for the Whiff of Joy challenge. I had a heck of a time getting this one together. It required paper piercing. This is my first time attempting it, and it was a bit tricky I have to say. I cut my corners out with a punch and paper pierced the corner pieces. It was difficult to make sure you pierce far enough away from the edge, and also to keep your paper from bending. I used the swing from Magnolia to sit my little pregnant lady on. I used a glitter pen to outline the swirls on her dress and her pearls to give them a bit of a glimmer.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #38

Here is my entry into the Whiff Of Joy Challenge. I love this image. She is so lovely holding her little baby girl. I used paper from an old baby girl paper pack I purchased many moons ago. The Sentiment if from a company called My Sentiments Exactly, and is all about babies. I just love this saying because it's what my Dad used to say to me all the time. Hope you enjoy.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #37

Well here she is my 1st Whiff Of Joy card. I love the whole line that Whiff Of Joy offers, and I purchased a few of the newer ones. I have been dying to make a card with them. Last weekend a one year old baby boy around the corner from me drowned in a hot tub. This card was a must do for me to think of happy times with little ones. This image is just so innocent and delicate. I love the folds in the mom's dress, and the sleeping child on her sholder. I did it to enter my first Whiff Of Joy Challenge. This challenge required 3 pattern papers, 3 flowers, and one ribbon. I found that one of my favorite papers, Heidi Grace's Baby Boy design, had just the right colors that I was looking for. I used 2 Martha Stewart punches on this card, the individual leaf punch, and the lace scallop edge punch. I used my Nicole Heady ribbon in just the right tone of yellow, and embellished with 3 baby blue roses. I hope you love it as much as I do.
