Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - BFF

This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we are looking for cards that have BFF on them. BFF's are Buttons, Flowers, and the word Friendship somewhere on the card.

For my card I used the MFT image called Baby It's Cold Outside. I love this image. I colored it with my copics and added tons of Martha Stewart snow on the bottom. My papers are from Daisy Bucket and I edged them with an emerald green that usually comes out lookin more blueish. My flower is from Prima and my snowflake is a Martha Stewart punch. My sentiment for this card is from Cornish Heritage, called friendship.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Two's Better Than One

This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we are doing cards or projects with more than one stamped image on it. Our sponsor this week is the fabulous

For my project I used a paint can that I had bought many moons ago from our local scrapbooking store. I have been sitting on it for a while as I wasn't quite sure how to finish it off. It finally came to me with this challenge to create a 3 dimensional winter scene. I used a winter scene from Magnolia that I had bought a while back. I also used this wintery Tilda, but can't find her on Magnolia's site to get the name for you. I just loved her winter jacket and hat. I colored both with my copics. I didn't have the right material for the bottom that I wanted so I just glued down some white felt and added Martha Stewart glitter on it to get it to shimmer like snow. On the outside of the can I added white rub on snowflakes to finish it up. I added bits of ribbon tied on the handles for a final touch.

I'm also entering my paint can into the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is Walking In A Winter Wonderland. (Create a scene).

Also All that Scraps has now a new Magnolia Stamp Challenge and this week is their first challenge and it is anything Tilda, Edwin, etc.

Well pull out all those stamps and let's see what you can create with more than one stamp.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Penguins

This week on April 25th it is World Penguin Day!! In celebration of these fabulous creatures we are celebrating by honoring Penguins in our challenge. We are looking for cards or projects that are honoring penguins. Either you can use a penguin stamp, or just make a card in penguin colors, black and white. Be creative and have some fun with it. For my box I used a template for a round topped box. It was hard to find the template, but I did finally find it on splitcoast stampers, the problem was I couldn't download it. I do have the template if you are really interested, so please e-mail me and I will send it to you. I used Papertrey's Night Sky Shimmer Cardstock to make the box. I then cut a round 2 1/2" circle. For my stamps I used all Elzybells penguin stamps. I colored them with my copics and added lots of glitter to make it shimmer. For the icicles I did not have the icicle boarder punch from Martha Stewart, but what I did have was the Pine Tree boarder punch. I used that one, trimmed off the points on the trees creating triangles, and inverted it to look like icicles. Hope it worked. I punched the icicles out of my Martha Stewart glitter paper that came in an Easter pack of paper that I got at Walmart.

I'm giving this box full of jelly beans to a my friend Jan who is a true penguin lover. I'm spending time with her this weekend, and I know she'll love it.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge #101 - Ribbon Tastic/ A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge #92 - Pearls and Glitter

Today is a perfect day to post my winter bag with the snowflakes. It has been snowing all morning here in our small little town of Keswick, Ontario, Canada. We are supposed to get quite a storm over the next few days giving us a total of 20 cm. We really can't complain as it hasn't snowed since Christmas, and for my husband who spent a ton of money without telling me on a brand new snowmobile, it is too little too late. But for us bears who hibernate, spring was looking a little closer until this morning. Guess that groundhog was right, 6 more weeks of winter.

I was inspired to make this bag from a project I saw in a Dutch magazine called Cards Only. The magazine is in Dutch, and unfortunately I don't understand a single word, but hell, who needs to read it when you can look at the pictures of the most amazing cards and projects I've seen outside of Magnolia Ink. For my project I took an old gift bag, but felt it was too deep. I cut it in half all the way around from side to side. I then put the two halfs inside each other creating a bag half as deep.

I then cut a square in the front that was slightly smaller than my stamped Magnolia winter background. I glued a piece of acetate over the hole. Then I covered the bag with one of my favorite winter patterned paper by Heidi Grace. I added some lace and ribbon to the top. I finished off the bow with a snowflake brad.
I colored my images with my copics. Here's the colors I used:
I added Martha Stewart glitter on the hills and some of the trees to make my scene glisten. Then I placed the winter background inside the bag lining it up with the acetate square. (Tip: line it up before gluing the 2 halfs of the bag together as it was a bit thin to get my hand in and position it properly.) I stamped my skating Tilda by herself. She is supposed to be held by skating Edwin, but I only inked her on the stamp. I added glitter to where her fur was. Then I embellished the bag with pearls on the snowflakes, and added a rhinestone swirl in the bottom corner of the window. I finished it off with 2 punched out snowflakes punched with white glitter paper, and added a smaller snowflake and a fur covered brad in the middle.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #43 Winter Blues

This week we are challenging everyone to make a Winter card or project in just shades of blue and white. For my project I made a gift box with a template I purchased from Papertrey called It's On The House. Very resonably priced and easy to make. I stamped the tag with my Plum Purdy snowman stamp called "Too Much Snow". I colored with my copics. I added some liquid glass with some glitter on it, 3 mini buttons, and 6 Bella Dots in the color Glitter Sky, on the points of the star. I cut the star our with my cricut. I used my Martha Stewart pine boarder punch. (I still think it looks like snowflakes.) I tied the tag on with a couple different colored ribbons. Let's see what's up your sleeve. Should be a fun card. Everyone likes blue winter cards.

Whiff Of Joy Challenge #51

Over at The Whiff Of Joy Challenge Blog this week, the challenge is to include a die cut on your card. Well I searched my whole inspiration room and the only die cut I had that was suitable to match one of my Whiff Of Joy stamps was the Nestabilities Snowflake die which I paired with Willow and her Lantern. I know Willow does have holly on her lantern and in her hair, so that was wintery enough for me, lol. I colored her with my Derwents and Mineral Spirits. I used some of my October Afternoon paper which if read closely has the story Twas The Night Before Christmas printed all over it with snowflakes. I used my Martha Stewart Punch and cut out a little boarder. I added a little pink polka dot bow with a Close To My Heart hat pin in it. My final touches were the Nesties Snowflake die cuts. I ran them through my Zyron and then glittered the tops with Close To My Heart Prisma Glitter, and finally threw a button in the middle. I love winter and I love using different colors other than the traditional red and green. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #27 - "Pull Out"

Well I don't believe it, I missed my debut. I was away on a scrapbooking retreat, and had my entry set to go on my blog at the wrong date. Well here it is. This weeks theme over at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is to create a card/project that has something that pulls out on your card. I made a slide card. I found the template on youtube.com, but still had to play with the dimensions to get it to fit. I used my Nicole Heady stamp set "Made Of Snow". I used Martha Stewart snow on the bottom, colored with my Lyra's and mineral spirits, added some button brads on his belly and some white dots on his scarf.
