A Summer Card and Bookmark

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted last.  It is not because I haven't been crafting, just too busy to post. So here's one I just did. On Tuesday I met with a fabulous friend for lunch.  We don't get to see each other as often as we like. We both accept that we have busy lives. T
here is some distance between us, but a nice lunch or a movie once in a while seems to suffice, other than quick phone calls here and there.  I have few people that I can make cards for, and use any excuse to get one put together.  Chris goes to Sauble Beach every summer for a couple of weeks with her family and gets lots of reading in.  I decided to use this excuse to make her a nice bookmark and a card.  I used my Saturated Canary image "What the Librarian Wants".  I used some random papers I had in my stash.  I colored my image with my Copics and added Liquid Glass to her glasses to make them look real.  My flourish is a memory box die borrowed from a friend.  For my bookmark I used my Saturated Canary image "FIN-tastic"  I cropped her and used my Nestabilities to cut her out then added rhinestones to the center of her bathing suit and on all the scallops.  I used Lily of the Valley paper for the background and purple and teal cardstock.  Chris loved it and it was great to get together with her and give her this.

A Saturated Birthday Card

Wow, been a long time since I made a post her.  Not that I wasn't crafting, because by far that is not the case.  I have done tons of layouts, and cards, just didn't get around to posting any.  This is a card I did for my boss who celebrated her over 25 birthday the other day.  This is Ellie's Birthday image from Saturated Canary, my favorite  digis.  I colored her with my copics and used a 6x6 mini pad of paper I had laying around.  I added a couple of purple rhinestones, one for her button and one for her pom pom.  The sentiments are from My Sentiments Exactly.  Man I get a lot of use out of that stamp set.

Saturated Canary Challenge #43 and Wild Orchid Challenge #76

Saturated Canary's Challenge blog this week has the theme of Emerald for their challenge.  They've included a photo that had some blues and purples also.  I used the Mother's Day Digi called Bloom  I thought she was adorable.  I made this card for a good friend that retired from Walmart.  She was my supervisor and became a great friend.  Here's hoping for a long friendship.  The papers I used were from a beach mini-pad that I bought at Michigan's Mega Meet, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The Wild Orchid Challenge this week  is to have a card with 3 or more flowers.  I included 3 different kinds of their flowers.  I colored Bloom with my Copics. Hope you enjoy.

Mega Meet Experience

On Wednesday, May 8th, Diane, Rose, Brenda and myself headed to Novi Michigan for the amazing scrapbook convention called Mega Meet.  OMG!!  It was scrapbooker's heaven. We had so much fun shopping and being inspired.

The funniest thing happened on the Thursday night.  Diane and I were going down for a swim in our hotel and figured at 10:30pm we weren't going to bump into anyone.  So stupid me puts my bathing suit on and a tank top only.  Now there were a few coolers happening before we hit the elevator.  Well the door opens and who's there but Mr. Stamper's Anonymous, Ted Cutts who is a business partner with Tim Holtz, and owner of Stamper's Anonymous.  We didn't know that at the time though.  Diane made a joke that I had forgot my pants, and man did we all have a laugh about it.  The next day at Mega Meet, we banged into Ted, and I showed him that I'd remembered my pants, and again another laugh was had.  Here's Ted and I.
There was so much more that happened and over the next couple of days I will show more pictures of very inspirational artists that I had the opportunity to meet, chat with and get a picture with.

Wild Orchid Challenge Buttons and Bows/ Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge Spring Days/ Saturated Canary's Challenge Read All About It

Today I'm posting a card for a couple of challenges. Saturated Canary's Challenge is for Read All About It and has to have something to do with books (she's my Alice In Wonderland)  Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge is calling for Spring Cards and Wild Orchid Challenge is looking for Buttons and Bows.
For my card I used Saturated Canary's Digital Image Sabrina.  I used my copic markers and colored her to look like my favorite storybook character and put my card together using Maya Road papers.  I used one of my Nestabilities to cut her out. My ribbon is from Papertrey and added a crochet flower.  Hope you love it.

A Saturated Birthday

Today I wanted to post the card I made for my eldest who as you can see turned 22.  Wow, hard to believe.  I used Saturated Canary's Nevaeh.  I love her.  She reminds me of my daughter who still loves dresses, and is now all grown up.  I colored her with my copics and added some pink to her hair as my daughter always has a funky color in her hair.  It is a little hard to see in the picture tho.  I used some random paper I had laying around, but my daughters favorite colors are green and pink, so this paper was perfect.  I cut out my image with one of my newer Nestabilities.  Added some ribbon I got at Michaels, some flowers from LOTV and some pearls from Michaels.  The sentiment is from LOTV  love all the sayings that it came with.  Hope you all enjoy your day.

A Sympathy Card

This is a card I made for a friend who lost her husband quite suddenly at a very young age.  My friend Jan's sister made one much better but with the same kid of design.  I loved how she masked the oval and sponged the edge.  I stamped it with Stamping Up's French word block and in Close To My Hearts Chocolate ink 2nd generation so it would be a little muted.  Then I stamped a tree stamp that I got from Michael's in Grey Wool ink from Close To My Heart over top.  I will post the inside as well, but I think I'm going to have to do that on a separate post as the picture keeps going sideways. Well added it anyways as it doesn't seem to change.   The sentiment if from Cornish Heritage Farms, but an old one and I don't think it's still availiable.  I'm not big on how I placed it and think the embossing might be a little to start.  I'll be playing with a few different ideas on it, but this will work for now.  On the inside I placed the center of the cut out oval On the card and sponged lightly around it getting the reverse look. Then placed the outer part back on and stamped the top of the tree peeking through.  I added a tad of Papertrey's gold sheer ribbon on the fron.

Well this is it.  Off to York Pensylvannia tomorrow for 4 days of fun and 3 of it scrapbooking.  Quick Quotes private reserve is finally here.  My girls (scrapbooking buds) are just as excited as I am.  I am entering every contest they have, lol, and this is my entry into their Smile contest.  It has to be predominantly Quick Quotes products.  This is their paper and I am not even sure what the line is called as I've had it laying around for a while.  This little flip album I added on the side was a gift that they sent with one of my orders and was meant to be a photo album, but I changed it into this so I can add more pictures on it.  It hangs over the page protector so you can view all the pictures.  My cricut also cuts out these palm leafs that matched the papers. I used some trim from CTMH and inked it with Quick Quotes ink.  I added their flower and some little baubbles and cut my title out of glitter paper.  Let's hope I win something.

Hand Made Purse

I mentioned a few posts ago that I was heading with three amazing scrapbooking friends to the Quick Quotes Private Reserve in York Pensylvannia.  It is fast coming and in two weekends we will be there doing some fabulous workshops and completing layouts and albums and calendars, and all kinds of great things.  They have many contests that you can win fabulous prizes.  You mention contest and I'm all in.  This is for their contest called Bling Your Bag.  This is my vision and entry to the contest.  I found lots of stuff to use in my stash.  My bag was a canvas tote that I bought in Michaels and with teal and purple spritz to cover it up to the color I wanted, (my carpet is shot from the overspray, lol), and then used tons of flowers, swirlly rhinestones, beads, Magnolia jewels, butterflies and rhinestones and just added until I was happy.  I found the trim at the top at Fabricland and it was the perfect touch.  For bonus points I also made a pair of matching earings and a necklace hoping that would sway people to vote for my bag.  The prizes are great and I'm hoping for a good one.

A Get Well Card For A Friend

I have a friend who had to undergo some surgery the other week.  I wanted to make a cheerful car for her.  I was searching and wasn't having any luck finding the right image.  My friend Christine from Dol Creations popped over and mentioned this image she had.  It was perfect.  I managed to find a blog where this card here was done and I loved it so much I had to reproduce it the best I could. Louise from Just Love To Stamp did such a fabulous card that I got her permission to post mine.  Thank you for your inspiration Louise. I used the Penny Black Cat in the Bra stamp and colored it with my copics.  I pop dotted the bra, panties and hankie.  I used some flowers that I had from the stash and stamped my own sentiment with my Just Rite stamp.  I have oredered an amazing stamp from Lily of the Valley with the sentiment that Louise used.  I have mailed this to Diane, and hope she gets it soon.  She's one of the ones that's going to York for the big Quick Quotes reserve in 2 weeks and we need her up and running for our 5 days of fun.

Quick Quotes Convention

Wow, I am off to York Pensylvannia in October to attend the Quick Quotes Convention. My friends have been before and the stuff that they have made there is just amazing. I am so excited I can't wait. Well 2 of my friends didn't know that my other friend an I are going to be joining them on this adventure. 5 days of girlfriends scrapping and having the time of our lives. So to surprise them I decided to make a layout for them. I did 2 exactly the same and when they pulled out the tags they found out that we were coming as well. They were so excited they screamed with delight. Now I have to find more of the paper to make one for my girlfriend and myself so we have a layout too. Here's the layout and the front and back of the tag. I used a piece of travel paper that I got at Michaels, mounted it on cardstock, flipped over one corner and backed that with some polka dot paper and secured it with a glitter brad. Then drew my dashed line from Toronto to York Pensylvannia. I added a cardstock car on that line. I made my own pocket and card and put a picture of my girlfriend Diane and myself as we're the ones going with them. Then on the back of that tag I stamped We're going too. I had a lot of fun making this for Brenda and Rose. It was a great surprise and Diane and I are sooooo looking forward to the road trip.

My Easter Gifts for Cute Card Thursday's I Want Candy Challenge

I decided to use Close To My Heart's milk cartons for my candy gift holder for my kids. I made candy boxes to fit the Cute Card Thursday's I Want Candy Challenge. I covered the cartons with card stock in pink, blue, green and yellow. I then used some jelly bean paper that I had and laying around and put it around the lower half. Then I stamped the peeps bunny from my Easter CTMH stamp set called "My Peeps". I love this little set. It comes with 4 stamps, the peeps bunny, the eggs, a SPRING saying and the saying on my cards "Happy Easter to my peeps". It is darling. I used the springs that are also from CTMH and put them under the peeps to raise them up. I cut a hole in the milk cartons and added acetate behind it. I then used stickles in matching colors to edge the circles and the peeps. I added rhinestones to the eyes. I made my kids cards just little 3"x3" cards. (I did it at 3 am, so little is what they got). I used the stame stamps, just pop dotted my bunnies. I hope everyone had a great Easter. I decided to share my table as well. Love to spoil the midgets.
Happy Easter,

April Calendar Card

Well not too much on this one. I was at a Scrapbooking Retreat and wanted to get it finished by the end of the weekend. I used my Magnolia Easter Stamps from last year. I found some old Easter paper I had laying around from last year and colored my images to match with my Copics. I used some rafia to tie a ribbon on it to match the straw that is under the eggs. There's tons of glitter on those eggs and also a little rhinestone on the flower in her hair.
Hope you enjoy

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes/Papertake Weekly -Bingo/Crazy 4 Challenges - Green/ Stampingbella - Green

Well I finally have gotten around to making a card for my beautiful daughter's 21st birthday. I can't believe that she is now legal, world wide to have a cocktail. It's amazing how old it can make you feel, lol. For her card I used Mo Manning's image Angelina. I colored her with my copics. I used tons of green as it is my big girl's favorite color. My paper is from CTMH and is one of their beautiful lines called "Sophia". I just love the prints and colors. The date stamp is CTMH's Stamp of The Month for November called "Cherish The Day. You stamp it out, create a ticket, then in the circle put the date of the month that you want to use. My daughter's birthday was March 4th, so the 4 went in the hole. It is a great set that can be used for anything that you want to personalize with a date.

I'm entering it into the following challenges Stamping Bella - Green
Crazy 4 Challenges - Green
Papertake Weely Challenge - Bingo (Ribbon, Free,
Punched Shapes)
Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes
Hope you have a great weekend and enjoyed your visit.

Green Layout For St. Paddy's Day

a

Here's a fabulous green layout I bought from Ninabrook Designs. They have fabulous kits that you can purchase. This layout is part of a 4 page kit. There are two 2 page designs in this one and they are reasonably priced. They come with tons of bling and all the embellishments to complete a great layout. My older daughter Sarah turned 21 in early March. Her favorite color is totally green. I loved this layout as her and her little sister Shelby spend very little time together because there are 10 years between them. She took her sister mini putting to a course that has great photo areas. She took advantage of it and took tons of pictures. They ended up matching the papers for this layout perfectly. Check out this and other kits from Ninabrook HERE.

Have a fabulously green day.

Disney Again

Here's my version of another fabulous layout I found. I'm enjoying some of the ones I am finding around, and sometimes it's nice to just get a couple of great layouts done with not too much thinking. I love the colors of this one and how it matched our outfits perfectly. Used up a bunch of disney papers and cut the mouse ears, camera, and flowers with my cricut. Hope you like it.

Black And White Layout

This is a Quick Quotes layout kit that I had bought a while ago, and thought that it would be perfect for these pictures. I had taken many interesting pictures on the cruise that I took with little Miss Shelby, (peeking through the porthole). I love the porthole picture I took. It looks like she's trying to get in the boat, haha. I actually took the picture of her in the Disney Kids Club on the boat. She's my mermaid. It was an open hole window with no glass from one section to another. My flash reflected off the silver porthole giving it the effect of water. The other pictures were just pictures that I took randomly on the boat. I love the saying that I had bought in Collingwood at a little dollar store. It is so perfect for this layout.

"The voyage never ends when the trip is over..."
"It is played again and again in your mind reliving the moment"
"You can never break free from the journey..."

How Blissful is that.
